The rowing began in the summer of 1904 with a four-man bought from the See-Club Luzern . The first boathouse was commissioned immediately after it was founded and soon after it was built in Tribschen Ried.

When the city of Lucerne wanted to build an airship hangar on the site in 1910, the boathouse had to give way. For this purpose, the whole hut was placed on a substructure with rollers and moved to the new location in the Tribschen Winkel.

In 1920 the location changed for the last time with the construction of today's boathouse on Alpenquai. The inauguration took place in autumn 1922.
