Rudolf "Rudi" Gores (born September 5, 1957 in Gerolstein ) is a former German soccer player , former soccer coach, current soccer scout.
Career
His home club is SV Gerolstein , where he became a youth national player. Rudi Gores began his active Bundesliga career in 1976 at Borussia Mönchengladbach . He was never a regular player in the top team at the time. His best year personally in Gladbach was 1979 with 24 Bundesliga appearances. During his time at Mönchengladbach, Gores was once German football champion (1977) and once UEFA Cup winner (1979). After the 1980 season he moved to MSV Duisburg , but left the club after relegation in 1982 in the direction of Fortuna Düsseldorf . In the summer of 1983 he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for SC Fortuna Cologne . Other second division clubs where Gores played were Tennis Borussia Berlin and Viktoria Aschaffenburg . He scored 16 goals in 98 Bundesliga games.
From July 1993 to the end of June 1995 he trained Viktoria Aschaffenburg in the Oberliga Hessen. From 1995 to 1997 he coached Rot-Weiss Essen , in 1996 he was promoted to the second division, but was dismissed there during the season. On July 1, 1997 Gores signed a contract with regional league club FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . There he was released after only 17 days due to financial difficulties. Then he was signed by the president of Wuppertaler SV . However, he was very hostile to the Wuppertal fans from the start due to his affection for Rot-Weiss Essen. After two very unsuccessful years, he was released in January 1999. In August 2005 he accepted Bernd Krauss' offer to work as an assistant coach at Baniyas SC in Abu Dhabi . After this station Gores was on April 11, 2006 at the Spanish club CD Tenerife again assistant coach under Krauss. Both coaches were released from their duties on December 4, 2006 due to unsuccessfulness. Gores then worked at the Rudi Völlers football school on Mallorca, among other things. Since 2013 he has been working as a scout again for his first Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach.
