Rudolf Hesse (architect)

Ferdinand Samuel Rudolf Hesse (* 1829 in Berlin ; † March 3, 1886 in Potsdam ) was a German architect and construction clerk.

Life

Rudolf Hesse was the son of the architect Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse and the younger brother of the architect Carl Hesse . From 1848 he trained as a surveyor at the Ostbahn and entered the military in 1849. In 1850 he passed the surveyor's examination in Potsdam and then worked for his father, among other things. From 1851 to 1856 he studied at the Berlin Building Academy , took the building foreman examination in 1852 and the master builder examination in 1856 . In 1857 he won the Schinkel Prize of the architects' association , of which he had already become a member while studying, with the design of the massive arched bridge . In 1869 he was promoted to city planning officer in Potsdam and later to building officer.
