The technician for building construction or civil engineering (certified construction manager HF) is the manager of the construction company for the implementation of structures.

In the construction company, the construction manager is responsible for the professional, timely and quality execution of the construction work within the framework of the contract for work, the standards and the specified target values in compliance with the safety regulations and:

  • represents the construction company vis-à-vis the client or construction management
  • plans the construction process on schedule and in accordance with the order
  • leads the staff assigned to him
  • organizes, monitors and controls the execution of the construction work
  • is the person responsible for safety on his construction sites
  • is responsible for quality assurance
  • ensures correct and timely processing of administrative and financial matters

The training consists of a two-year course at a higher technical school with an internship year in between, or part-time courses.

The job of site manager is often confused with that of site manager. The site manager (qualified technician HF execution) works in the company of the builder, the site manager (qualified technician HF project planning) works in the planning office.
