Rudolf Klein (engineer)

Rudolf Klein (born December 6, 1908 in Kleinostheim , † February 8, 1986 in Karlsruhe ) was a German engineer and professor of railways and roads .

Life

Klein became a Dr.-Ing. In 1936 with a study to determine the shortest travel time on a mechanical-dynamic basis . PhD. After his habilitation, he taught from 1949 as an honorary professor at the Technical University in Karlsruhe. In 1952 he was appointed full professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt, where he worked until his retirement in 1974.

Klein's scientific focus was on roads and railways. He wrote numerous specialist articles for railway and road construction journals and was co-editor of the railway technical review from 1965 to 1978 .

In the academic year 1964/65 he was rector of the TH Darmstadt .
