Rudolf Levers

Rudolf Levers (born December 10, 1915 in Petersburg , † 1989 ) was a Swiss illustrator and graphic artist . For many years he drew humorous articles for the annual magazine “Schweizer Illustrierter Eulenspiegel-Kalender”.

Life

In 1920 Rudolf Levers emigrated to Switzerland with his mother Hedwig Levers, where she married Eduard Ammann for the second time. After school, Rudolf Levers completed an apprenticeship in drawing and then began his career as a graphic artist and illustrator. He lived and worked in Zurich , where he married Flora Alice Löbnitz in 1942. The marriage resulted in two sons. Finally, Rudolf Levers set up a studio in Zurich, where most of his work was created.

In the following years he illustrated numerous books, most of which he created with pen drawings.
