Rudolf Julius Franz Oestreich (born March 7, 1878 in Berlin ; † 1963 ) was a German metalworker, editor and anarchist .

Life

From November 1904 to September 1907 (with an interruption in February 1907) Oestreich was responsible for editing the journal Der Freie Arbeiter . On February 27, 1908, the Imperial Court sentenced him to three years and ten months in prison for preparing for high treason.

Before the First World War, Oestreich was the editor of the newsletter of the Federation of Communist Anarchists of Germany (FKAD). In 1919 he was one of the founding members of the FKAD , was a member of its business commission for most of the years and, until 1933, the editor of its organ, Der Freie Arbeiter . In 1937 he was briefly arrested.

Erich Mühsam reported in his article Schmach und Schande 1928 that Oestreich had accused his colleagues Rudolf Rocker and Helmut Rüdiger of defamatory insult.

After the Second World War, he and the Berlin communist Alfred Weiland issued the votes on the danger of war in 1948 , before he was responsible for the revival of Der Freie Arbeiter from 1949 to 1951 , which was merged with the liberation published by Willy Huppertz as United Papers from 1950 to 1951 .
