Rudolf Stechmann

Rudolf Stechmann (born February 9, 1899 in Dollern , † October 15, 1989 in Jork ) was a German politician ( DP ). From 1955 to 1959 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Stechmann graduated from high school and volunteered for the First World War in 1917. After the end of the war he studied at the Technical University of Hanover, but interrupted this for a short time when he was part of a student combat group. From 1920 he worked as a farmer in Borstel in the Stade district. With a short visit to the Agricultural University in Halle and an autodidactic course he passed his exam and received his doctorate in 1924 as Dr. rer. nat. In 1925 he became a certified farmer at the University of Hamburg . From 1930 he worked as a self-employed farmer until he took part in World War II in 1939 as the head of a heavy unit. After the end of the war he was one of the founders of the Lower Elbian fruit growers' association. In 1953 he was on a study tour of fruit and vegetable growing and sales in the United States. He was co-owner and managing director of a brickworks.

Stechmann belonged to the third electoral term of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1955 to 1959, from May 9, 1955 as a member of the DP / CDU parliamentary group.
