Rudolf Steinweg

Rudolf Steinweg (* 1888 ; † November 2, 1935 near Budapest , Hungary ) was a German racing driver .

Steinweg began motor sports in 1921, but withdrew from the scene by 1929. As a privateer, he took in a 1.5-liter NSU in various hillclimb part. In 1930 Steinweg bought a 6-cylinder Amilcar with 1.1 liters, with which he was able to win 21 races in three years. Steinweg thus advanced to become one of the best hill climbers in the races for small displacement. In 1933 he sold his Amilcar to Willi Briem and bought a 1927 Bugatti T35 from Karl Kappler . With this car Steinweg took part not only in the hill climbs he favored, but also in circuit races.

Rudolf Steinweg had a fatal accident during training for the race on Guggerberg near Budapest .
