Rudolf von Fischer

Friedrich Rudolf von Fischer (born February 22, 1929 - † August 25, 2017 ), entitled to reside in Bern, was a Swiss lawyer and president of the civic community of Bern .

biography

Rudolf von Fischer was born in 1929 to Beat Friedrich von Fischer and Isabella Maria von Wurstemberger . His older brother Friedrich Beat Albert von Fischer was a pastor. From 1958 to 1999 he was married to Sibylle Elisabeth Weyermann . The two had two children.

Fischer studied singing at the Vienna Music Academy , law and art history in Bern and graduated with a patent as an advocate from Bern . In 1960 he joined the family business Stettler, v. Fischer & Cie. (today by FISCHER, Bern). He was a member of the supervisory commission of the Bernisches Historisches Museum and numerous foundations, including the Berner Münster Foundation, the Foundation Family von Fischer von Reichenbach and the Foundation Rudolf von Tavel. For many years he was a member of the Big and Small Citizens' Council of the Burgergemeinde Bern, presided over the Casino Commission and from 1991 to 1997 he was President of the Burgergemeinde and the Burgergemeinde. Rudolf von Fischer campaigned for the preservation of historical buildings and works of art, especially for historicism . The rescue of the Grandhotel Giessbach goes back to his initiative.
