Norikatsu Koreyasu

Norikatsu Koreyasu ( Japanese 是 安 則 克 , Koreyasu Norikatsu ; * around 1960, † September 23, 2011 ) was a Japanese jazz musician ( double bass ).

Norikatsu Koreyasu played in the Japanese jazz scene a. a. with Takashi Miyasaka ( Soul Tomato , 1982), Osamu Matsumoto , Takayuki Kato , Shuichi Enomoto , Eiichi Hayashi and Kurumi Shimizu , also in the Nippon Soul Jazz Band and from the 2000s in Satoko Fujii's formations Gato Libre and Ma-Do (with Akira Horikoshi , Natsuki Tamura ), with whom he also toured in Europe. Together with the Takayuki Kato and the singer "Shoomy" Akemi Taku he released a joint album in 2010 (ゆ っ く り 夢見 , Yukkuri Yumemi ) on the Kitakara Records label, with jazz standards like " All the Things You Are ", " Ruby, My Dear " and " You Must Believe in Spring ". The discographer Tom Lord lists his involvement in jazz between 1982 and 2011 with 16 recording sessions, most recently with Yukiko Hayakawa ( My Wardrobe , 2010) and Satoko Fujii's formation Ma-Do (album Time Stands Still , 2011). In later years he played in a duo with saxophonist Taiichi Kamimura and in the trio of Hisae Nakajima (with Takuji Kusumoto ); he also appeared as a soloist.
