Shuichi Enomoto

Shūichi Enomoto ( Japanese 榎 本 秀 一 , Enomoto Shūichi ; * 1952 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese jazz musician (tenor and soprano saxophone, also flute , shakuhachi ).

Shuichi Enomoto worked in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1970s, where he played in the High Society Orchestra of Waseda University . He also played u. a. with Fumio Watanabe ( Fumio , 1979), Kurumi Shimizu ( Pictures , 1983), Masahiko Ozu ( Dolphin Dance , 1984), Takeo Moriyama ( Green River , enja , 1984), Fumio Itabashi ( Impact , 1984) and 1987 with Shoji Aketagawa ( Airegin Rhapsody ).

His debut album First Runner (Sound Design Records) was created in 1984 with Kazuhide Motooka , Koichi Hiroki , Norikatsu Koreyasu , Gregg Lee , Takeshi Watanabe and Masayuki Kume ; In 1991 the album Malam / Saya (Aketa's Disk) followed under his own name , on which Takayuki Katō , Norikatsu Koreyasu, Takuji Kusumoto , Tomohiro Yahiro and the vocalist Shūmi had participated. In 1993 he performed with the Shigeo Maruyama Orchestra at the Yamaha Jazz Festival ; 1999 still with the Aketagawa Shoji & Aketa Nishiogi Sentimental Philharmony Orchestra. In the field of jazz, Tom Lord lists him in nine recording sessions between 1979 and 1999.
