Takeshi Watanabe (musician)
Takeshi Watanabe ( jap. 渡辺剛 , Watanabe Takeshi * 7. July 1952 ) is a Japanese jazz - drummer .
Watanabe took lessons from Motohiko Hino , and later from Billy Hart , Jimmie Smith and Alan Dawson . He played from 1973 with Yoshio Ikeda ( Anemophilous Flower , 1979), with whom he stayed until 1979. He then worked with Isao Suzuki until 1981 , then with Eiji Kitamura ( A Day in Jazz Vol. 2 , 1982). From the late 1970s he was also involved in the recordings of Masako Miyazaki , the Terry Herman Trio (consisting of Teru Sakamoto and Takao Neichi ), Koji Moriyama and Hozan Yamamoto / Karl Berger ( Again and Again , JVC 1985).
