Takuji Kusumoto
Takuji Kusumoto ( Japanese 楠 本 卓 司 , Kusumoto Takuji ; * around 1950) is a Japanese jazz musician ( drums , also percussion ).
Takuji Kusumoto played in the Tokyo jazz scene from the early 1970s in the quartet of Seiichi Nakamura , with whom the first recordings were made in 1973 ( First Contact , with Shigeharu Mukai ); also with Ushio Sakai , Fumio Itabashi ( Alligator Dance , 1976, with Tsutomu Okada ), Shigeko Toya , the Masaru Imada Quartet ( Remember of Love , 1978), at Bingo Miki & the Inner Galaxy Orchestra and in the Aki Takase Trio with the bassist Nobuyoshi Ino ( Aki , 1978). He also worked with Yoku Tamura , Suichi Enomoto , Shoji Aketagawa and Sunao Wada ( Blues for Bird ) in the 1980s and early 90s . In the field of jazz he was involved in 13 recording sessions between 1973 and 1994. From the 2000s he played a. a. in a trio with the pianist Tadashi Ohta and the bassist Norikatsu Koreyasu and in the Hisae Nakajima Trio, also with Norikatsu Koreyasu ( Freedom , 2010).
