Clavières ( Occitan : Claveiras ) is a central French city and a municipality with 209 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016: Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Flour and the canton of Neuvéglise (until 2015: canton of Ruynes-en-Margeride ).

Clavières is located about 15 kilometers east-southeast of Saint-Flour . Clavières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Védrines-Saint-Loup and Chastel in the north, Pinols in the northeast, Auvers in the east, Paulhac-en-Margeride in the southeast, Julianges and Lorcières in the south, Chaliers in the west and southwest and Ruynes-en-Margeride in the West and northwest.
