Peyrusse ( Occitan : same name) is a French municipality with 153 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Flour .

Peyrusse is located around 19 kilometers north-north-west of the small town of Saint-Flour within the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park .
history
The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. This is proven by finds from this period.
Peyrusse is mentioned for the first time in 765 in the chronicles of the Benedictine Aldeme as Pétrubia . In the Hundred Years War the community is looted. Historically, the commune belongs to the Cézallier region within the Auvergne. Peyrusse belonged to the Murat district from 1793 to 1801 and was part of the Allanche canton from 1793 to 2015 .
