La Chapelle-d'Alagnon ( Occitan : La Chapela d'Alanhon) is a French municipality with 249 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Flour .

La Chapelle-d'Alagnon is located around 17 kilometers northwest of the small town of Saint-Flour in the area of ​​the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park . It belongs to the Monts du Cantal mountains . Most of the houses are located in the Vallée de l'Alagnon (Alagnon Valley). The most important bodies of water are the Alagnon , the Ander , the Foufouilloux brook and several ponds in the moor and in the Alagnon valley.
