The Alagnon is a river in France that runs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the municipality of Laveissière , in the Monts du Cantal , on the eastern flank of the Puy Bataillouse . The source is in the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park . The river generally drains north-east and flows into the Allier after 86 kilometers at Auzat-la-Combelle as a left tributary . On his way he crosses the Cantal , Haute-Loire and Puy-de-Dôme departments .
