Charmensac ( Occitan : same name) is a French municipality with 85 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Flour .

Charmensac is located around 20 kilometers north of the small town of Saint-Flour within the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park .

history

Historically, the commune belongs to the Cézallier region within the Auvergne. Charmensac belonged to the Murat district from 1793 to 1801 and was part of the Allanche canton from 1793 to 2015 .
