Vabres ( Occitan is identical), a central French city and a municipality with 250 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Flour and the canton Neuvéglise (until 2015 Saint-Flour-Nord ). The inhabitants are called Vabrais .

Vabres is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montchamp in the north, Védrines-Saint-Loup in the east and north-east, Ruynes-en-Margeride in the south and east, Saint-Georges in the west and south-west and Tiviers in the north-west.
