Laveissenet ( Occitan : same name) is a French commune of 130 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Flour .

geography

Laveissenet is located around 17 kilometers northwest of the small town of Saint-Flour in the area of ​​the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park . It belongs to the Monts du Cantal mountains . The main bodies of water are the Lagnon , the Ander and several ponds. The most important traffic connection is the national route 122 , which runs north of the municipality . The nearest train station is in Murat.
