Laveissenet ( Occitan : same name) is a French commune of 130 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Flour .
geography
Laveissenet is located around 17 kilometers northwest of the small town of Saint-Flour in the area of the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park . It belongs to the Monts du Cantal mountains . The main bodies of water are the Lagnon , the Ander and several ponds. The most important traffic connection is the national route 122 , which runs north of the municipality . The nearest train station is in Murat.
In addition to the village of Laveissenet, there is the Cheylanes settlement and some individual farms.
Laveissenet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Chapelle-d'Alagnon in the northeast, Ussel in the east, Valuéjols in the southeast, Paulhac in the southwest and Albepierre-Bredons in the west and northwest.
