Chanterelle ( Occitan Chantarela ) is a French municipality with 95 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the canton of Riom-ès-Montagnes (until 2015 Condat ) and the arrondissement of Saint-Flour .

Chanterelle is about 55 kilometers north-northeast of Aurillac . Neighboring communities are Égliseneuve-d'Entraigues in the north, Espinchal in the northeast, Montgreleix in the east and southeast and Condat in the south and west.
