Albert Monier

Albert Monier (born May 3, 1915 in the Savignat district of the municipality of Chanterelle , † December 21, 1998 in Paris ) was a French photographer .

Life

Albert Monier grew up in a farming family in the Cantal department in the French region of Auvergne . In 1934 he bought his first camera and mainly photographed landscapes and the rural population in natural surroundings.

After a stay in Morocco , he returned to Paris in 1950, where he began to publish his pictures as postcards with name abbreviations and short labels. Until his death, his photos were sold in the form of more than 80,000,000 picture cards and 100,000 posters around the world. In his home region of Auvergne, but also in the rest of France, photo exhibitions with his pictures are held again and again. Albert Monier is buried in Normandy .
