Rudolf of Munster

Rudolf von Münster (* in the 16th century; † after 1587 ) was a canon in Münster .

Life

Rudolf von Münster came from the highly free Westphalian noble family von Münster . He was the son of Veit von Munster zu Alst und Krechting and his wife Dorothea von Ermen. On presentation of the canon Gottfried von Schwarzenburg he received in 1564 Münstersche Dompräbende . In 1577 he joined the youth party in the cathedral chapter , which u. a. the canons Johann Nagel , Georg Nagel and Rotger Ketteler belonged. This confessed to the Protestant faith and played an important role in the election of bishops . Rudolf became archdeacon of Stadtlohn on November 12, 1579, resigned two years later and took over the Beckum provost on March 12, 1581 . On December 20th of that year it came into the possession of the Senden office . He waived on February 1, 1582 to all offices.
