Rudolph Bay
David Vilhelm Rudolph Bay (born July 9, 1791 in Copenhagen ; † May 25, 1856 there ) was a Danish composer.
Life
Bay lived from 1813 to 1831 as consulate secretary in Algiers . Afterwards he was royal chamber musician and from 1834 also cantor in Copenhagen. Bay is considered to be the first representative of an independent Danish music.
He composed a Singspiel as well as romances and songs that are strongly influenced by Danish folk music.
