Rudy Andeweg

Rudolf Bastiaan "Rudy" Andeweg (born February 28, 1952 in Leiden ) is a Dutch political scientist .

Life

Andeweg had attended the Rijnlands Lyceum in Oegstgeest from 1964 . In 1970 he began to study law at the University of Leiden , in 1971 he joined the Political Science Institute and in 1975 he went to the University of Michigan with a scholarship for international education to continue his studies in political science. Here he received a Master of Arts in Political Science in 1976 . Returning to the Netherlands, he began to work on his doctoral thesis, he became Hans Daalder's assistant (1928) and received his doctorate on November 18, 1982 at the Leiden University with the subject of Dutch voters adrift; on explanations of electoral change (1963–1977) (freely translated into German: Dutch voter behavior; on declarations of electoral change (1963–1977)). 1982 to 1983 was an employee of the government commissioner for national administrative reform. After he had already worked as an associate professor of political science from 1985, had worked as a guest lecturer at Oxford in 1987, he was appointed professor of social and law sciences in Leiden on January 13, 1988, specializing in empirical political science.

After he had already taken up his post on September 1, 1988, he gave the introductory speech on October 6, 1989 Tweeërlei ministerraad. Over besluitvorming in Nederlandse kabinetten. In Leiden he was Dean of the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences in 1996/97, worked at the Dutch Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS) in 2002/03 and chaired the Institute for 1990–93 and 2003–06 Political science from the Leiden University. Since 2006 he has been a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences , has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Mannheim Center for European Social Research since 2007 and President of the Dutch Political Science Association (Nederlandse Kring voor Wetenschap der Politiek, NKWP) since 2011.

He has been a member of the Kiesraad since 2007 .
