The Ruifeng Night Market is located in the Kaohsiung district of Zuoying at the intersection of Yucheng Road and Nanping Road in the immediate vicinity of the Hanshin Kaohsiung Arena department store and can be reached on the Kaohsiung subway red line . Along with the Liuhe night market, which is heavily influenced by tourists, it is the most famous night market in the city and one of the most popular with the locals. With an area of around 3000 m² and around 1000 registered stalls (which, however, are not all set up or open at the same time), it is also Kaohsiung's largest night market. The stands mainly offer food and drinks, but also clothing, accessories, toys and other items. The menu includes a wide variety of local and foreign dishes, mostly in the form of snacks.

The market is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 6:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

history

The closed market by day

The market was originally located on Ruifeng Street in Gushan District , which is where its name comes from. For reasons of traffic and market strategy, the dealers gradually moved to the new location during the 1990s and formed an association that is now responsible for renting the stands and other organizational tasks. Since there are many schools and commercial buildings near the market and the food at night markets is relatively cheap, its visitors in the past were mainly schoolchildren, students and office workers. The site is now also visited by customers from the surrounding shops and department stores as well as tourists.
