Romanian red neck-necked stump

The Romanian stump neck (zburător gât golaș românesc) is a medium-sized naked-necked pigeon breed with a strong figure, whose plumage is normally developed with the exception of the middle of the neck. In Germany they were only recognized in the yellow, red and the rare red-pale colors at the end of the sixties. In Romania, red and yellow spotted and tabby are also known. As good high fliers , they were mainly bred in Bucharest and the surrounding area.

Nudity

In theory, mutation can result in naked-necked animals in any breed. Nackthalsige domestic pigeons are very long known in Romania and Spain, in Hungary occurred nackthalsige field pigeons on. In contrast to the bald-necked chickens , whose featherless necks are due to a dominant gene, the recessive factor of necklessness in pigeons compared to the wild-type normal plumage is inherited as an intermediary . Offspring from crosses of bare-necked pigeons with normal-feathered pigeons show all transitions from normal skin fletching to partially bare skin areas.

description

The Romanian neck-necked dolphin emerged from Romanian clown dolphins and was described in the Hungarian specialist press as early as 1899. They became world-famous through publications by Prof. Peterfi in 1952, who said that the breed originated in Wallachia (Muntenia) around 1900 and had Russian ancestors with the Goloscheni.

The feathers of the Romanian neck-necked stump are relatively long. The legs are short to medium long and have no feathering. The head is arched and smooth-headed . The eyes are pearly colored, the edge of the eyes narrow. The beak is of medium length and directed downwards. In red bottlenose dolphins it is horn-colored to dark, in yellows it is light to light-horn-colored.

The neck is of medium length and is slightly bent backwards. The middle is not feathered all around. Short stubble grow back periodically, dry up and fall out again. The skin is wrinkled, flesh-colored to brown.

The chest protrudes little. The back drops backwards. The wings are relatively long. The wings are loosely carried by the bottlenose dolphin on or next to the rather long tail. This consists of 12 to 16 control springs and is worn flat.
