The volleyball department of the Rumelner Turnverein 1900 eV was founded in 1971. The first men's volleyball team played in the second division north from 2011 to 2014 .
There are also two other men's, two women's and numerous youth teams. The male A-youth became German champions in 2002 and 2005 .
