Rumen Hranov

Rumen Hranov (bulg. Румен Хранов) (born July 9, 1944 in Bulgaria ) is a Swiss investor and owner and chairman of the board of directors of Finman AG.

biography

Hranov studied mathematics and physics at the University of Leningrad and graduated in 1969 with a degree in engineering. In 1972, Hranov began working as an engineer and in sales for turnkey industrial plants in Africa. The projects included the National Theater in Lagos , Nigeria . Rumen Hranov worked as a freelancer in the construction industry from 1976 to 1979. He was responsible for the development and implementation of turnkey industrial plants in the Middle East , Kuwait , Saudi Arabia , Egypt and India . Structures such as the ministry building in Kuwait City or Jeddah Airport in Saudi Arabia were under his authority.

In 1979 Rumen Hranov established himself in the trade in oil products, specializing mainly in the export of goods from Saudi Arabia to Germany. In 1985 he founded the Swiss company Finman AG, under which he continued to trade oil products until the turn of the millennium. Via Finman AG, Hranov invests in projects such as organic feed production in Russia , oil sands projects in Canada and a financial boutique in Kazakhstan . Furthermore, Finman AG has held various investments in Swiss companies since 2000.

It became public knowledge in 2006 in connection with the merger of Swissfirst Bank and Bank Bellevue. As a shareholder, Rumen Hranov filed a criminal complaint against Swissfirst. This was due to price gains that he had missed due to inconsistencies in the merger, which ultimately led to the criminal investigation against Swissfirst and their case.

Rumen Hranov is a Swiss citizen and lives in Zollikon with his second wife and children . The Hranov family's fortune is estimated at CHF 150 million; this makes him one of the 300 richest Swiss people.
