Runald Ossen (born May 18, 1963 in Birkenfeld (Nahe) ) is a former German football player .

Career

The 1.86 m tall midfielder began his career at SC Birkenfeld . In 1982 he moved to SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd Bundesliga . He made his debut in professional football on August 21, 1982 when he came on for Willi Bernecker after 56 minutes in the 3-0 away defeat against Fortuna Cologne . After 76 second division games in which he scored nine goals, he returned to SC Birkenfeld in the Oberliga Südwest .

In 1987 he was committed by the second division side Stuttgarter Kickers . With the club he rose to the Bundesliga . In 1990 he left the Kickers and went back to the Oberliga Südwest, this time to Eintracht Trier . In 1992 he went to the second division relegated TSV 1860 Munich in the Bayern League . With the club he managed to return to professional football and after a season in the second division Ossen ended his active career in 1994.

Ossen played 28 first division games in which he scored a goal. In addition, he made 154 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored eleven goals there.

Today he works as a specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery at a clinic in Pforzheim .
