round (television broadcast)

round was a youth program on GDR television .

The program was broadcast for the first time in 1973 on the occasion of the 10th World Festival . Originally six programs were planned, but due to its great popularity with the audience, the program continued until around 1988. Rund was a political entertainment magazine tailored to the youth and broadcast once a month. The political agitation was combined with national and international music to arouse the young people's interest in the program. Around 1,000 celebrities appeared on the show and around 1,500 songs were played.

First speaker was Hans Misersky, by Radio DDR I known. Other moderators were u. a. Bodo Freudl, Alexander Lehmberg and Claudia Fischer.

At the end of 1974 the Swedish group ABBA performed with their Grand Prix winner Waterloo at around .

In total there were 145 shipments of around . In addition, there was the rock concert series Rund-Rhythmus with 45-minute concert recordings by Slade, Smokie , Status Quo, Hot Chocolate , Secret Service and others.
