Around the Magdeburg Cathedral
Around the Magdeburg Cathedral is a cycling criterion .
The first circuit race in Magdeburg took place in 1935. In 1959, the participation of the former world cycling champion Gustav-Adolf “Täve” Schur made this criterion a magnet for visitors, because the rainbow jersey attracted around 50,000 spectators to the route. After the event on October 3, 1990, the traditional race paused and was not held again until September 8, 2006.
In the years 2008 to 2011 the event was not held due to a lack of sponsorship funds.
In 2012 the race took place again on August 24th.
