Szabolcs Zempléni

Szabolcs Zempléni (born January 8, 1981 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian horn player .

Zempléni studied at the Franz Liszt Music Academy with Ferenc Tarjáni and at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin with Christian Friedrich Dallmann and Markus Bruggaier . Since 2000 he has played solo horn in the Budapest Festival Orchestra, and from 2005 to 2013 he was solo horn with the Bamberg Symphony .

  • First prize at the Hungarian Horn Competition (1995)
  • Main prize with the highest number of points awarded: Concertino Praga (1998)
  • Second prize at the International Horn Competition Markneukirchen (2000)
  • First prize at the International Horn Competition Brno (2001)
  • First prize at the international ARD competition in Munich (2005)
