The radio station Krasny Bor was a large transmitter for long, medium and short wave at Krasny Bor , which is also known as the St Petersburg transmitter or radio center №11 ( Russian Радиоцентр №11 ). It was launched in 1961/62 and, in addition to numerous free-standing steel lattice towers that carry transmission antennas for shortwave broadcasting, has four self-radiating transmission masts - a 271.5 meter high transmission mast for longwave broadcasting, which is equipped with a trap antenna, and a 257 meter high one isolated from the ground Transmission mast for medium wave, which also carries a trap antenna, a 106 meter high transmission mast for medium wave, which carries antenna wires around the mast like a fish belly on several transverse girders, and a 93 meter high guyed steel framework mast isolated from earth.

The 271.5 meter high transmitter mast was built in 2002 to replace a 257 meter high transmitter mast that was destroyed in a helicopter collision on November 5, 2001.

On December 31, 2012, the operation of the transmitter was stopped due to austerity measures by the Voice of Russia. Only the transmission technology for DVB-T and medium wave transmitters on 1089 kHz (Radio Teos, 50 kW) remained in operation.
