The round houses in Dresden are two listed residential complexes in the Briesnitz district with the addresses Gottfried-Keller-Platz 1–6 and Gottfried-Keller-Platz 8–12 .

description

The flat-roofed residential complex built in 1930 at Gottfried-Keller-Platz 1–6 “is committed to new building ... and [is] the only building in the rationalist style in Briesnitz and Cotta .” The different window shapes of the perforated facade are remarkable. The staircase windows emphasize the vertical and are almost square in shape. The living and sanitary areas can be recognized by the tall or flat windows under the eaves. The building has a passage for the Felix-Dahn-Weg.

In contrast, building no. 8–12 has a pitched roof.

The buildings were built on the ground plan of an arch in the shape of a modern city gate in the Briesnitz settlement. The development shows "clear similarities with the Dresden buildings by Theodor Richter ... [and] with Bruno Taut's Hufeisensiedlung in Berlin-Britz ." The development of the square is completed by two older and smaller buildings.
