The 1.64 m high rune stone from Gillberga ( Samnordisk runtextdatabas U 508) was found in 1939 in a field in Gillberga, in Lövstalund, near Vallentuna in Uppland in Sweden . The rune stone is located 200 m west of the Kårsta – Malmby road, 200 m north of the exit to Gillberga. It belongs to an early group of Uppland rune stones without ornamentation with runes in simple loops. The stone was painted in 2004.

It is a masquerade stone that lay on the field with the carved side down. Since it was hindering agriculture, the landowner blew it up. When the pieces were picked up, it turned out that there were runes on the bottom. M. Alander had the pieces recovered and reported the find. The stone was repaired and set up about 2.0 m from the site with the writing to the country road. The red-gray rune stone made of granite protrudes 1.57 m from the ground. Its width is 1.15 m. The unevenly carved, partly deep, partly quite flat incision measures 1.36 × 0.7 m. The surface is uneven. The carving lines are tight. The carving on the top is disturbed. The text in two rune loops rounded at the top (not in serpentine ribbons) reads:

"Ikiluk × uk × afriþ × þaR × litu × risa × stin × þina + iftir × -a - bi-rn faþur × sin × kuþan × uk × ragni × þu × biku × i × l ----"

“Ingelög and Åfrid had this stone built in memory of ... -björn, their good father, and Ragne. You lived in ... "

A mask is carved into the upper edge between the runic arches. The rune stone from the Viking Age is dated between 980 and 1015 AD.
