The rune stones from Lingsberg are two rune stones and a rune stone fragment from the 11th century, which are listed in the Rundata catalog under U 240, U 241 and U 242. Lingsberg is located about two kilometers east of Vallentuna , about 24 kilometers north of Stockholm , in Uppland in Sweden . The two intact rune stones were set up by members of the same family.

The text on the stone U 240, decorated with animal images and a cross, reads: Dan and Huskarl and Sven and Holmfrid, mother and sons, erected this stone in memory of Halvdan, the father of Dan and his brothers, and Holmfrid after their husband.

U 241 is one of the England rune stones . It was engraved on it that Dan and Huskarl and Sven erected the stone after Ulvrik (Ulfrik), their grandfather, who had received two Danegelder . The receipt of danegeld (tribute) indicates service with the Scandinavian troops in England between 980 and 1018. Therefore, the rune stone was dated to the second quarter of the 11th century. Danegeld is one of the Grindastones in Södermanland, the rune stone from Yttergärde in Orkesta, the Väsby stone in the district of Ösby and one of the rune stones from Lingsberg, all in Uppland . The taxes from England are called gjald or Knutsgjald . The latter refers to the last donation of Knuts the Great in 1018, with which he may have rewarded his troops. This can be used for dating. Because the Viking trains to England started again around 980 and led to the Danegeld payments. The last payment was made in 1018.

The barely legible text on U 242 was probably engraved by runes master Åsmund with runes in the younger Futhark .
