Rupert (Bamberg)
Rupert († June 11, 1102 ) was Bishop of Bamberg from 1075 to 1102 .
Rupert was because he was in 1076 at the national assembly to Worms against Pope Gregory VII. Had said that the ban has, but later acquitted and reinstated. In the investiture dispute , he held to Emperor Heinrich IV.
Bamberg Cathedral burned down completely in 1081 .
After Jews in Bamberg had been forced to be baptized and thus converted to Christianity, Rupert allowed them to return to Judaism (see also Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Bamberg ).
