Russell Roberts (economist)

Russell Roberts (* 1953 ) is an American economist . He is Professor of Economics at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and a Research Associate with the Hoover Institution at Stanford University .

Prior to his professorship at George Mason University, Roberts worked at Washington University in St. Louis and was the first director of the Center for Experiential Learning at the John M. Olin School of Business. Roberts has also taught at the University of Rochester , Stanford University , and UCLA .

Roberts is the author of several novels on economic subjects. His 1993 novel The Choice was named Best Book of the Year by BusinessWeek and the Financial Times . Roberts interviews economists on a variety of topics as part of the weekly podcast EconTalk .
