Russell Streiner

Russell Streiner (* 6 February 1940 as Russell William Streiner in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , USA ) is an American film producer and actor .

Life

Streiner is best known for the role of Johnny in George A. Romero's horror - classic Night of the Living Dead . In addition to Karl Hardman , who also had an appearance in the film, Streiner was one of the producers of the film. Streiner also worked as a producer in the films There's Always Vanilla , The Booby Hatch and the 1990 remake by Tom Savini . As a screenwriter, he was involved in the 1985 horror film Damn, the Zombies are Coming .

He worked in advertising for several years while continuing to work in film, television, business, and social production. Throughout his career, Streiner has spent bringing film and television productions to Pennsylvania. He also serves on an ongoing basis as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Film Office (formerly known as the Pittsburgh Film & Television Office). Streiner also founded the Pittsburgh Film Office. Streiner was also a co-mentor with John A. Russo on the John Russo Movie Making Program at DuBois Business College in DuBois , Pennsylvania.

Streiner occasionally appears at gatherings of horror fans and signs autographs there. He now lives in Pittsburgh and has a son, two daughters, a granddaughter and a grandson.
