Karl Hardman

Karl Hardman (* 22. March 1927 as Karl Hardman Even in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , USA ; † 22. September 2007 ) was an American horror film - producer and actor .

Life

He produced along with George A. Romero the famous horror movie - classic Night of the Living Dead . He himself also appeared in the film as Harry Cooper. He also appeared in the film Santa Claws in 1996 , after many years. These were his only two films.

Even before Night of the Living Dead Hardman was an institution in Pittsburgh popular for his work in Pittsburgh's morning show Cordic and Company , moderated by Rege Cordic . Hardman was part of the crew alongside Bob Trow and Sterling Yates . He voiced many of the characters on the show. Hardman continued his work with Cordic after the presenter moved to Los Angeles in 1965 . Hardman later owned a reconstructed studio in Pittsburgh.

Hardman ran the production company Hardman / Eastman Inc. in Pittsburgh with John F. Eastman and his wife, actress Marilyn Eastman . John F. Eastman's wife Marilyn Eastman, played in the film Night of the Living Dead , the wife of Hardman and that was in real life godmother of Kyra Schon . The daughter of Estman and Hardman already played in the film. Hardman and Marilyn Eastman were friends and business partners for over 44 years.

Hardman died on September 22, 2007 at the age of 80 years of pancreatic cancer .
