Kyra M. Schon (born October 4, 1957 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is an American actress and author . It is primarily the role of Karen Cooper in George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead , a classic of the horror film known.

Life

Kyra Schon was born in 1957 as the daughter of the actor Karl Hardman and the make-up artist Eva Marie Scheufler.

As early as 1968 she played her first film role in the horror classic The Night of the Living Dead alongside her father. She portrayed Karen Cooper , the film daughter of her father's characters and her real godmother, Marilyn Eastman .

In 2007 she published the scary children's story Arlene Schabowski of the Undead together with the author Mark McLaughlin . Four years later she briefly returned to the film business and took on the role of judge Kyra Brody in the thriller The Greenman . In 2012 she slipped into the horror comedy Living Dead a second time in the role of Karen Cooper from The Night of the Living Dead . She had another appearance in the short film Dayplanner of the Dead , which premiered on March 2, 2013 as part of the 45th anniversary of The Night of the Living Dead in Dormont, Pennsylvania.
