The Russian Libertarian Movement ("Rossiyskoye Libertarianskoye Dvizhenie", RLD ) was a libertarian party in Russia .

history

On August 25, 2003, two days after it was founded, the Russian Ministry of Justice confirmed its official registration as the first libertarian party in Russia. The establishment was announced to the public at a press conference on September 6, 2003. Their new office was set up on the Lomonosov University campus .

The Russian Libertarian Movement participated in the 2003 Duma election in one constituency (No. 201 - Moscow , University). However, the RLD applicant failed to win the constituency seat.

The Russian Libertarian Movement cultivated international contacts, including the Libertarian Party in the USA and the International Society for Individual Liberty .

At the end of 2006 the party disbanded.
