State Prize of the Russian Federation
The State Prize of the Russian Federation ( Russian Государственная Премия Российской Федерации Gossudarstwennaja premija Rossijskoj Federazii ) is a state award of the Russian Federation , which was awarded to the USSR in 1992 as the successor medal of the USSR . In 2004, the award rules were changed to increase its importance.
Classes
Seven awards are presented each year:
- three prizes in science and technology
- three prizes for literature and art ;
- a prize for humanitarian activities (donated in 2005).
The state award is presented with a cash prize of 5 million rubles , a medal and a certificate. In the case of multiple award winners for the same award-winning work, the award will be shared among a maximum of three award winners.
The State Prize is presented annually by the President of the Russian Federation on June 12, the day of Russia , in a solemn ceremony in the Great Kremlin Palace , which is mostly broadcast on Russian television.
medal
The medal for the State Prize was designed by Yevgeny Uchnaljow (Евгений Ухналёв) based on the Russian state coat of arms . It shows in gold a double-headed eagle with a scepter and orb with a red shield on which St. George with the dragon can be seen. The eagle is crowned by two small and one larger crown and sits on a silver wreath made of palm and laurel branches around which a red ribbon is wrapped. In 2005 the appearance of the medal was changed.
