Russia-Aktuell , also called Aktuell.ru after the main domain , was a German-language internet newspaper from 2003 to 2016 that was published in Moscow . The journalist Gisbert Mrozek was the publisher and editor-in-chief throughout the entire publication period .

history

The newspaper was carried by the German-Russian news agency RUFO . From 1998 onwards, RUFO published news and journalistic articles on the Internet, initially under the address rufo.ru, then later under the addresses Moscow.ru and Russia.ru. In 2003 there was a conflict with a programming group employed by RUFO from the city of Tarusa and they finally split up. Since the rights to the domain www.russland.ru were not awarded to RUFO after the judgment of a Russian court, RUFO renamed its online newspaper to Russia-Aktuell . As a result, www.aktuell.ru was used as the main domain. The newspaper's articles are still available under the domain. The group from Tarusa has since operated the competing newspaper Russland.RU that sees itself also in the succession of previous online news.

From 2005 to mid-2007, Russland-Aktuell cooperated closely with the German-language print monthly St. Petersburgische Zeitung . In February 2016, Aktuell.ru stopped the production of new items without giving a reason. Since then, only automatically generated anniversary articles on Russian history are new online. Several former employees of Russia Aktuell such as Lothar Deeg , Michael Barth and Susanne Brammerloh had previously switched to Russia.RU.

Regional editions

Russia-Aktuell had sub-pages for local and regional reporting from Moscow (moskau.ru), St. Petersburg (Petersburg-Aktuell, 2002-2015, editor Lothar Deeg , now at Russland.ru) and Kaliningrad (Kaliningrad-Aktuell, 2004-2016). For many years, RUFO had its own editors in these cities.
