Rutherford (unit)

Rutherford ( unit symbol : Rd ) is a unit for the activity of a radioactive substance proposed by the National Bureau of Standards , Washington, DC USA , 1946, but not introduced internationally . It was named after the physicist Ernest Rutherford .
