Ryō Mizuno ( Japanese 水 野 良 , Mizuno Ryō ; born July 13, 1963 in Osaka prefecture ) is a Japanese author who is probably best known in the worldwide manga and anime scene through the fantasy saga Record of Lodoss War is.

He wrote the original novels and manga (supposedly based on notes he made while role-playing with friends) and also worked on the film adaptations.

biography

He graduated from the Law Faculty of Ritsumeikan University . In 1987 he was one of the founding members of Group SNE , which manufactures role, board and card games . In 1988 he had his novel debut with Rōdosu-tō Senki: Haiiro no majo . This sold more than 1 million times and thus had a significant influence on fantasy light novels . The entire series of novels ( Rōdosu-tō Senki , Rōdosu-tō Densetsu and Shin Rōdosu-tō Senki ) sold more than 10 million copies by 2005.
