Ryō Orime

Ryō Orime ( Japanese 折 目 遼 , Orime Ryō ; born June 26, 1982 in Kyōto ) is a Japanese racing car driver . He will start in Formula Nippon in 2012 .

Career

Orime started in the Japanese Formula 3 championship in 2005 and finished it in 15th place. He also took part in two races in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge and won one of them. In 2006 Orime switched to Formula Nippon , where he was given a cockpit with Team 5Zigen . Orime's best results were two twelfth places. At the season finale he was replaced by João Paulo de Oliveira .

In 2007 Orime left formula racing and switched to Gran Turismo . For Re Amemiya Racing he started in the GT300 class of the Super GT . Together with his teammate Hiroyuki Iiri , he finished twentieth. In 2008, the two succeeded in winning the GT300 classification and improved to seventh place in this classification. In 2009 Orime got a new teammate in Nobuteru Taniguchi . The two stood on the podium six times, but did not win. The two runners-up in the GT300 classification. In 2010 Orime / Taniguchi won two races and finished the season in third place in the GT300. Orime also took part in a race in the Australian V8 Ute Racing Series . Orime became the first ever Japanese to compete in a V8 supercar series. In 2011 Orime switched to the SG CHANGI team within the Super GT . Together with his team-mate Alexandre Imperatori , he once won the GT300 classification. Orime was in fifth place at the end of the season.

In 2012 Orime returned to Formula Nippon. At SGC by KCMG he received a cockpit. After the third race, he finished 17th overall.
