Ryōta Sakata ( Japanese 坂 田 良 太 Sakata Ryōta ; born February 25, 1992 in Kumamoto Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Sakata learned to play soccer on the school team at Ozu High School and the university team at the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya . He signed his first contract with Roasso Kumamoto in 2013 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the J2 League . He played two league games for the club. In 2014 he moved to league competitor Tochigi SC . At the end of the 2015 season, the club was relegated to the J3 League . In 2017 he was runner-up in the J3 League with the club and was promoted to the J2 League. For the club he completed 20 league games. At the end of 2019, he ended his career as a football player.
